Information Logistics

The term "logistics" is a military one and there describes the optimal stream of supplies to the recipient.

In an economic context the term is now often used to describe only stocking and transporting of wares and is therefore increasingly replaced by "Supply Chain Management" (SCM).

The Serwise Group applies the formulations of a supply chain to providing decision makers with information. As in every SCM, the first step is to comprehensively describe all requirements. A critical analysis of existing protocols and reporting standards will be a good starting point. Integrity, identifying surplus and an evaluation of data quality are decisive, but just as important are an understandable illustration and focus on essential statements.

The process of information preparation is followed backwards from its recipient and optimized and completed where necessary. As well as technology the organisational aspects are relevant.  Who defines the structure? Who customizes them? Where is the transition of responsability between department and IT? Clarifying these questions is crucial for an unobstructed flow of information.
